CEO Letter by Rich Robb
First and foremost, I want to wish you all the happiest and healthiest of holidays. It has been a difficult year but MN Builders has a lot to celebrate, thanks to all your efforts, open minds, and high standards.
In the four decades this company has been around, we’ve seen our share of tough times but I think we all can agree that 2020 is without precedent. Still, when I look back on all we have accomplished in the past twelve months, I am filled with pride, amazement, and gratitude.
Early on in the pandemic, we decided to take a proactive approach to our company’s future. That meant not pulling back but aggressively moving forward and making substantial investments in our company and our people. As a result, we find MN Builders not only thriving in the present but positioned for even greater things in 2021 and beyond.
SO WHAT DID WE ACCOMPLISH THIS YEAR?
For starters, we made the pivotal transition to becoming a majority employee-owned company. I can’t emphasize enough what this historic milestone means for all of us. Suffice to say I believe our newly-minted ESOP status is the single most important key to the long-term sustainability of MN Builders.
And speaking of reinvesting, have you seen the latest addition to our shop? It’s not just a faster, more eco-friendly saw; it’s the new heart of our shop operations and tangible proof of how busy we envision 2021 is going to be .
This brings me to our most important investment: our people. While other companies sadly had to furlough or lay off staff in 2020, I am proud to say we added twelve new members to the MN Builders team. Our 2021 pipeline for both our shop and construction is full and I am excited that we have the marketing, machinery, and professionals in place to take in on.
One final note: If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s the importance of safety in everything we do. There are so many aspects of this company I am proud of, but none more than the way we prove, time and again, how seriously we take our commitment to the safety of our work sites, our colleagues, and our customers. It’s this kind of attention to detail that has brought MN Builders to the eve of its 40th anniversary, and ensures we will be around for many more anniversaries to come.
Yours in gratitude and admiration,
Rich
